T-BALL SEASON WAS SO MUCH FUN!

His first trophy in all of history.
Caiden was able to play on the city's T-Ball league. He loved being able to hit the ball and run the bases. I think his most favorite part of all was sliding into home plate and seeing how many grass stains he could get each game. He was so proud of his grass stains!

His team was the Angels. It was a rough team to play on though... There were 3 kids that were ADHD. Talk about trying to keep kids focused on the game and not on butterflies, fire ant piles, fly balls from the other games across the field. It taught me some patience that's for sure!
Here is Caiden getting his medal and his trophy from Coach Mandibon. He and his wife were so good with all of the children. They were great examples to the children. We loved their dedication to the kids.

This is Caiden jumping for joy.... HOME RUN!!!
Caiden,
Good Job little buddy. You were amazing in your first year of T-Ball. I loved seeing you grow and improve as you worked hard. You are such a special young man and I am blessed to have you as my son. Keep up your love of learning new things and you will be able to accomplish anything you desire. ♥ Mom and Dad

~Just what I needed~

As moms we have great concerns over the welfare of our children. Caiden is very sensitive to my emotions and is always willing to take the time to make others feel better.
As I was crying one morning, Caiden came up to me, patted me on the back and said "Be right back, I know just what I need to clear those tears up."
He came back with a huge collection of soft fluffy tissues. He was right, it was just what I needed.
It was his love that helped dry up my tears.

~Learning to Love Public Speaking~

Living in such a small area has been a blessing for the many opportunities that we have received to speak in sacrament meeting.
Caiden has been recruited 3 times already. Most adults don't even have to speak 3 times in such a short period of time. He is just learning to read, but already has such a firm love of the scriptures. I am so proud of him for being willing to get up in front of the congregation and give his small and simple talks filled with his sweet testimony of Jesus Christ.
Caiden also sang "I am a child of God." It is his favorite song and to hear him sing is like listening to the voice of a small angel.

Caiden~ You once again amazed me. I am so proud of you. You have become so good at being able to get up in front of people and give it your very best. Your Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love you too. ♥Mom

Thank You Uncle Shane

Caiden's Uncle Shane made him the coziest blanket for Christmas. He was so excited to have one of his very own works of art.
Thank you to my fabulous brother in law Shane for making my little guys Christmas comfy cozy.

The Problem Is.....

Scott and Caiden were busy working out a couple of nights ago. Caiden is learning how to do chin-ups just like his daddy. It was Scott's turn on the bar and I had made the comment that as he was hanging there his arms looked like could just pop off.

Caiden said this profound statement..... "You know what the problem would be if you didn't have any arms? (What?)
You wouldn't have any place for your watch.
You also wouldn't have anything to put through the arm-holes in your shirt."

So true right?

What a Smart Young Man.

We had parent teacher conferences for Caiden last week. We had a really great conference this time.
About a month ago we had an unofficial meeting with his teachers and were told that they had some concerns about his behavior. We discussed their concerns as well as ours.
The consensus?.... He was bored, bored, bored. Preschool is just to easy for him and the fact that he is getting a repeat from last year was driving him to boredom which equaled naughtiness and attention seeking.
So the teachers have been working on challenging him more and teaching him things that he hasn't already mastered.
So with that in mind, we have been working on first grade skills in both reading and math.
It is good to see him having a challenging time with trying to figure out how to add double digits and reading complex words (sh, ch, st,).
It was good for me to hear just how well he is doing and who wouldn't love hearing that they have the smartest kid in class? (and possibly the school) The teacher said that she wished that they had a gifted program that they could offer him. For now we will just continue to challenge and teach him until he feels like he needs to slow down. He truly amazes and inspires us.

He has been acting better in class and expressing his needs and frustrations as they come up.
I just don't think they were prepared to have a child that can articulate his needs and so they didn't know quite how to handle his strong personality.

His latest obsession is memorizing dialogue. He told me that he wants to be a movie star.
This is the latest thing that he has memorized. He is mesmerized by the newest version of Charlie and the chocolate factory.

*Greetings,to you the lucky finder of this golden ticket, from Mr. Willy Wonka.
I shake you warmly by the hand and invite you to my factory for ONE WHOLE DAY.*

He also loves jingles from commercials.
* Nationwide is on your side *
(He used this one when we were at a meeting and the presentor was discussing some national statistics about the subject.)
She said " These statistics are nationwide.....
He busts out in song, "Nationwide is on your side!"

The other one that he loves is,
OXI CLEAN WITH KABOOM. IT GETS THE TOUGH STAINS OUT!
or if it is just KABOOM.
KABOOM AND THE STAINS ARE GONE!

I was stirring grape juice and some of it spilled on my white shirt he told me that we needed to use (in his best infomercial voice) OXI CLEAN WITH KABOOM. IT GETS THE TOUGH STAINS OUT!

Caiden, thank you for being my boy. I just love you so much and think you are such an extraordinary young man. You never stop making us laugh and have such a fun personality.
Keep up the excellent work in school. You are truly gifted and very talented. ♥ MOM

Service With a Smile and Some Yummy Cookies

While we were at church on Sunday I noticed that one of the sisters in our branch was not there. It is not like her to miss church, so when Caiden and I got home from church I called her. We found out that she was not feeling well.
Caiden and I decided to bake a batch of cookies for her as well as have him make a get well card. (Scott delivered them to her so that he could give her a blessing.)
We also took plates of cookies to a few of our neighbors. I believe that it is never to young to instill the desire to give service and provide random acts of kindness.
I also believe that receiving cookies from a little boy as handsome as Caiden would bring a huge smile to my face.

How cute is this card? Caiden said that the hands are shooting webs like Spiderman.

A Scary Story... By Caiden

While we were driving home tonight the kids were all telling scary ghost stories. Caiden wanted to tell one too.

Once there a room, and in the room was a couch, and on the couch sat a shadow figure.
On the back of the couch there was a note. The shadow figure read the note- it said,
BOO!!!

We all got a good laugh at how scary (more like cute) his story was. I sure adore that little boy.

Hair Cuts are No Fun

Caiden does not love having his hair cut. It usually starts with a big fight, lots of tears and a constant stream of "are we finished yet?"
This was a super fast hair cut. The reward was a super happy boy at the end.
So handsome!!!
